Leadership Kingsport

Mission: The mission of Leadership Kingsport is to “develop leaders who give life to community dreams.”

Leadership Kingsport is an innovative program presented by your Kingsport Chamber that is designed to develop leadership skills in participants and provide essential information about our community in order to enhance our emerging and existing leaders. LK is a 10 month program that incorporates the community’s experts in various fields to explore Kingsport’s history, government, nonprofit organizations, education, large and small businesses, emergency response, and quality of life.

You will build your leadership skills while you build your community in Leadership Kingsport!

How it Works:

Each class is comprised of approximately 30-35 individuals based on submitted applications and personal interviews. To complete the program, you must engage fully in the process and have the workplace flexibility to attend day-long sessions monthly from August– May. At each session, participants meet professionals, business executives, community and government leaders, and social change agents There is also a team building retreat and a trip to Nashville during the program.

Each participant is required to complete a team community impact project (CIP).
